Selling into Poland?

Here's what you owe, and who decides.

The competent voivodeship marshal records producers in BDO, the national database run under the Ministry of Climate and Environment. Packaging, WEEE and batteries use separate scopes inside it. We prepare each scope and keep the shared BDO number attached to the right files.

Who carries it

Two answers decide whether any of this is yours.

Where your company is established, and whether you sell to consumers or through a local reseller. Those two put you on one of four routes, and the route decides who places the goods on the market in Poland for the first time: the person the law calls the producer.

  • EU seller, selling to consumers

You place the goods on the market in each country you ship to, so you are the producer there, even without a company in it.

  • EU seller, selling through a reseller

Your local reseller is often the first to place the goods on the national market, which can make them the producer instead of you. It depends on the country, and it is the first thing we check.

  • Non-EU seller, selling to consumers

You are the producer in each country you ship to. Several of them also require a representative established there, a role we can fill.

  • Non-EU seller, selling through a reseller

Whoever imports into the EU usually becomes the producer. That may be your reseller, and it may be you. Several countries also require a representative established there.

The scope check asks the two questions and names your route in about five minutes. Check my scope

Streams

Four streams. They never share a file.

Packaging goes to the packaging scheme, electronics to the WEEE register, batteries to the battery register. Mixing them is the most common reason a file comes back.

  • Packaging

    Register
    BDO

Packaging and packaged products are recorded in their own BDO scope. The recovery route depends on the products and packaging placed on the Polish market.

  • WEEE

    Register
    BDO

Electrical and electronic equipment uses a separate BDO activity scope and reporting section.

  • Batteries

    Register
    BDO

Batteries and accumulators use their own BDO activity scope and reporting section.

  • Textiles

We hold no documented source for textile in Poland yet. That does not mean you owe nothing. It means we will not put a claim on this page we cannot back. Ask us and a person will check it.

BDO is one database with separate activity scopes for packaging, electrical equipment and batteries. One BDO number does not turn those scopes into one declaration or one scheme contract.

Dates

The dates that cost money if you miss them.

Everything on this page carries the day we last checked its source. Where a value is not published by the sources we hold, the line says so rather than filling itself in.

  1. —

No declaration date in our sources

Our sources for Poland do not publish one. We would rather leave this blank than print a date you might plan around. The review names the calendar that actually applies to your file.

Legal basis on this page: Act of 14 December 2012 on waste · BDO register · Act of 13 June 2013 on packaging and packaging waste · National acts for WEEE and batteries.

What we do

We prepare and we submit. Voivodeship marshal decides.

Every line below is something we do, not something we obtain. The difference matters on a page about Poland: the register decides whether and when to accept a file, and no provider can promise otherwise.

  • Prepare your registration for BDO, in the shape Voivodeship marshal asks for.
  • Submit each stream separately, to its own register or scheme.
  • File the declarations that follow, on the calendar Poland runs.
  • Record every response from Voivodeship marshal and the schemes, and tell you what it means in plain English.
  • Resubmit at no extra fee if a file we prepared comes back.

Price

Per country. Poland is one of them.

The same single fee applies everywhere we run. What changes between countries is what the scheme charges on top, and that is billed by them, never by us.

€299 per year, in Poland

Before scheme and authority fees. See our fees

No setup fee, and the same figure every year. Open a second country and it is the same figure again: the account is shared, the fee is not.

In your coverage

Poland is one row. Here's the rest.

This is the part a national site cannot do for you. One account holds every country you open, one calendar holds every date, and one dashboard says where each file stands, including the ones you have not started.

Questions about Poland

Three answers we give on every file in Poland.

They are the same three everywhere we run, and only the names change. The scope check answers the first one for your company in about five minutes; Voivodeship marshal decides the second, which is why we say what we do about it rather than what we obtain.

Do I need a company in Poland?

No. This is built for non-resident sellers. Depending on the country and stream you may need an authorised representative established there. That's a role we can fill, and the scope check says whether you need one.

What if the file is rejected?

It happens, usually because a product spec or a company document doesn't match. We tell you what came back, in plain English, and resubmit once it's fixed. No extra fee for a resubmission on a file we prepared.

I already have a provider in Poland.

Keep them. You can start with the countries you don't cover yet, and the dashboard still shows Poland so your calendar is in one place.

Going further

The local detail lives on eprpoland.com.

We run that site too. It carries the long-form guidance for Poland, in more depth than this page, and it is the canonical source for the national detail. This page is about how Poland fits into everything else you owe.

Free. No card. A person answers.

shippeu.com is an independent private service. It is not a government office, an authority, a register or a collective scheme, and it is not affiliated with, authorised by or endorsed by Ministry of Climate and Environment, BDO, competent voivodeship marshal. Each authority and each scheme decides independently whether and when to accept an application.

Figures on this page come from published guidance. Last source review: 27 August 2026. Rules change. The scope check is reviewed by a person before any quote.
